About Ryan Ruzic
Ryan Ruzic is a lawyer who has worked in both Prosecutor and Public Defender Offices across Virginia.
Ruzic became the youngest Chief Public Defender in Virginia when he was appointed in 2021. He has won cases in front of the Virginia Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals of Virginia.
He regularly lectures at law schools, universities and criminal justice training academies across Virginia on trial practice, negotiation, and legal ethics.
In addition to his fifteen-year public service career in criminal justice, Ruzic has been appointed by the Virginia State Bar to Chair Loudoun’s legal ethics committee where he judges ethics complaints and disciplines lawyers for unethical behavior.
